Course Dates: January 22-24, 2025
General Guidance: The 14th Emergent Topics in International & Operational Law (ETIOL) Course: Technology & Acquisitions will be held 22-24 January 2025 at TJAGLCS in Charlottesville, VA, and will focus on “Digital Allies: Bridging Military and Industry in the Tech Age.”
This two-and-a-half-day course is designed to explore critical national security law (NSL) and contracts law (KFL) issues in today's rapidly evolving technological landscape. Expert-led panel discussions will cover the integration of industry tech with military capabilities, creative ways to leverage federally funded public-private partnerships, and strategic considerations in procuring cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence.
This course is intended for experienced (senior-level/mid-level) legal practitioners from all military branches and DoD agencies who advise on NSL or KFL issues at the three and four-star level, as well as legal professionals supporting organizations that directly deal with public-private partnerships in tech initiatives. Examples include officers in field-grade billets or equivalent civilian personnel whose portfolios include advising on the use of emergent technologies, technology law, or tech acquisitions. Since some materials will be presented at the SECRET level, all individuals wishing to attend this course must have a SECRET security clearance.
Applications for the 14th Emergent Tech & Acquisitions Course are due by 6 December. Applicants will be notified of their selection on or about 13 December 2024.
