The 3d Advanced Justice Practitioner Course (3d AJPC) is scheduled for 5-9 May 2025. All personnel must attend the 3d AJPC IN-PERSON and the course is by INVITATION ONLY. All personnel selected to attend the 3d AJPC will be identified by U.S. Army Trial Defense Services (USATDS); the Office of the Special Trial Counsel (OSTC); or Staff Judge Advocates, as determined by the Course Managers. Priority attendance will be given to those identified by USATDS or OSTC. Judge advocates interested in an assignment to USATDS or the OSTC, particularly officers in the U.S. Army Reserve and Army National Guard with a background in litigation, should contact representatives from these organizations to express your interest in the 3d AJPC.
For those officers identified to attend, the deadline to submit your course application is NO LATER THAN Friday, 11 April 2025 or as soon as possible. This course will offer CLE credit, including 1 hour of Professional Responsibility. More information regarding CLE credit and in-processing will be disseminated with the Welcome Memo in future correspondence from the Course Manager.

Description: The AJPC provides specialized training to judge advocates from all services who are identified for an assignment as special trial counsel, defense complex litigator, or senior litigation counsel/TDS equivalent. The course instruction is tailored to the advanced military justice practitioner and emphasizes advanced trial skills and case law updates for the prosecution and defense of covered offenses. The course instruction also employs TDS and OSTC specific breakouts designed to foster candid discussion following plenary sessions.
Prerequisites: Only judge advocates identified by the OSTC, USATDS, and Staff Judge Advocates will receive an invitation to apply.
