GFE stands for Government Furnished Equipment. If the government provided you the equipment, then it is GFE. Personal devices are everything else that can connect to a network.

NIPR is the US Army network, Commercial is your public Wi-Fi, such as our Wi-Fi, which is provided through UVA, or Starbucks, McDonalds, or at your home.

Faculty, Staff, Grad Course and OBC students are provided a “TJAGLCS” wi-fi account personalized to their names. They should not be using the “Guest” network. Frequent visitors, such as TJAG or TPM personnel may also receive “TJAGLCS” accounts so they can access the TJAGLCS network every time they visit.
The Guest network was established for use by everyone else. However, the security settings on VPN typically do not like our Guest Network. Course Managers should come by the G6 the Friday prior to their course to request “Student cards”. These generic but unique logins should be provided to short course students or guest lecturers who must use VPN while here at the LCS. A “Guest” network account must be renewed daily.

Users may have their GFE and 1 (one) personal device on the network.
