PLEASE NOTE: THIS APPLICATION IS ONLY FOR ACTIVE COMPONENT ARMY ATTORNEYS, PARALEGALS, AND ARMY CIVILIAN ATTORNEYS, AND PARALEGALS THAT ADVISE ACTIVE COMPONENT ARMY UNITS. ARMY NATIONAL GUARD AND ARMY RESERVE JUDGE ADVOCATES, LEGAL STAFF, AND CIVILIAN ATTORNEYS ADVISING THOSE UNITS MUST CONTACT THEIR RESPECTIVE ARMY TRAINING REQUIREMENTS AND RESOURCE SYSTEM (ATRRS) TRAINING COORDINATOR TO REQUEST A SEAT OWNED BY THE NATIONAL GUARD OR ARMY RESERVE FOR THIS COURSE. If you are NOT an Active Component Army judge advocate, paralegal, or civilian attorney, DO NOT fill out this form. Instead, to register for this course you must contact your agency's training coordinator who can enroll you in the Army Training Requirements and Resource System (ATRRS).
Scope: This course provides foundational instruction in domestic operational law for Judge Advocates and DoD civilian attorneys who are likely to be involved in responses to natural disasters or other domestic incidents (e.g., terrorist attack, CBRN incident, National Special Security Events, public health emergencies, etc.)
Prerequisites: This course is intended for U.S. military (DoD & U.S. Coast Guard) attorneys who are expected to provide advice to commanders engaging in U.S. domestic operations in response to a natural disaster or other domestic incident taking place. Individuals who have completed this course within the three-year period immediately preceding the date of this course are not eligible to attend. Applications from all federal agencies meeting these criteria are welcome; however, due to limited class size, priority will be given to U.S. military attorneys.
Course Application: Completing this Course Application does NOT guarantee you a seat in this course. Those individuals meeting eligibility criteria will be selected and sent an ATRRS registration form. However, due to allocated available seats in ATRRS, completion of the ATRRS registration form also does NOT guarantee a seat in the course. Early completion and submission of this Course Application is advised as priority will be given to the order in which applications are received.
All prospective Army students must complete this Course Application for approval or disapproval no later than 9 December 2022. Approved applicants will be notified for completion of ATRRS enrollment no later than 12 December 2022 (however, you may be contacted prior to this date to complete and return an ATRRS registration form).
